女性戏剧节 Women Theatre Festival

The 2011 Women Theatre Festival presents a performance of 3 original short plays written, directed and acted by some of Beijing´s most talented foreigners. Having successfully done many shows on the stages of the Chinese North Capital, having written, directed and performed for Beijing´s annual New Short Play Festivals, this laowai theatrical community has now created a show which consists of 3 short plays that depict modern life from a woman´s perspective.

The producer of the Festival Xu Haibo explains: "This is the first time we organize this festival and we aim to make it annual from now on. It is designed to show the women of the 21st century, their goals, their beliefs, their motives. We are very proud to present some original plays in English by foreign Beijingers as part of our festival. Women all around the world are having similar problems and challenges and it´s fascinating to see what choices they make: family or career, marriage or independence."

The 2011 Women Theatre Festival is organized by Beijing Drama Association and Beijing Women's Union and is supported by Central People's Radio.
