"Assistant Lecturer in Chinese Studies (Three-Year Contract Post) National University of Ireland Maynooth

National University of Ireland Maynooth has decided to establish Chinese Studies as an Arts subject within the School of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures from September 2011. It is envisaged that Chinese Studies will be developed into a fully rounded undergraduate subject, operating in the spirit of a liberal Arts education prevalent in the School of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures, the Faculty of Arts, Celtic Studies and Philosophy, and the University as a whole.

The post is the first full-time position advertised for this purpose. Supported by the Head of School, and availing of the conducive framework and infrastructure already in place, it will be the responsibility of the appointee to build up Chinese Studies from First Year intake in 2011-12 to BA level in 2013-14."
