PostDoc in ethnographic study of religion in China

"The Max-Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity, Department of Religious Diversity in Göttingen is offering a position for a qualified

Senior Social Scientist

who is specialized in the ethnographic study of religion in China. This position is at the German equivalent of Associate Professor (W-2 Professor). It is a tenure-track position that will be renewed each year after positive review with the possibility of tenure after 4 years. The candidate should be able to set up and lead a research team with Ph.D. candidates and postdoctoral fellows and develop a research program that fits within the general research framework of the Department as outlined on www.mmg.mpg.de

Requirements:

Ph.D. in Social/Cultural Anthropology, Sinology, Religious Studies, Sociology or Political Science. Experience in conducting fieldwork in China. Proven fluency in Chinese. A publication record with at least one published book and a number of articles in refereed journals.
