Chen Xin is director of the Youth and Social Issues Studies Department of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He has 16 years of academic experience in rural development and migrant workers’ issues.
Richard Huang, professor at Renmin University in Beijing, is a spiritual anthropologist.
Li Tao in 2003 founded Facilitator NGO, which in the past 7 years has been providing various support and education to migrant workers and their children in Beijing and southern China. He is a former journalist.
Shen Yajing (Akina) is director of development at the nonprofit Compassion for Migrant Children (CMC). She is from western China and received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees at the College of Development and Humanities in Beijing. Akina worked with both the China Federation of Poverty Alleviation and China Salvation Army before joining CMC.
Zhang Huimin is CMC’s director of programs. In 2007, Huimin earned her M.Sc. in development studies from the Asian Institute of Technology, under a Ford Foundation scholarship, and currently is a M.A. candidate in Development and Gender for Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex in the UK.
