Want to take part in valuable Psychology research and get an insight into the life scientific process?

I am a Psychology researcher from the UK and will be working here in Beijing at Peking University for the next two years. I am currently carrying out a research study with the help of my colleagues here at PKU. We are looking at the differences between Chinese people and European/ European Americans in how they feel in different situations and how they control these feelings.

Ultimately, this research has important implications for assisting international harmony and co-operation.

We are looking for enthusiastic people who would be interested in taking part in this research. To take part you must:
1) Be between 18 and 45 years old
2) Either:
i) Be Chinese, have been born in China, have lived in China most of your life and speak a Chinese language as your first language.
ii) Be European/ European American, have been born in Europe or North America, have lived most of your life in Europe or North America and speak fluent English.

Taking part in the research involves filling in a short form via email (approximately 20 minutes) and attending two research sessions at PKU (one session will be less than 1 hour long, the other will be 2-3 hours long). We can pay participants 100RMB.

During the research we will ask the people who take part to spend time looking at some photographs and telling us how they feel. We will record brain activity using a special hat and will record heart rate and people´s facial expressions. Participants will also be asked to complete some questionnaires.
If you have any questions then please contact me at k.a.woodcock@bham.ac.uk

I look forward to hearing from you soon!
