在中国南方，古代称为“夜郎”的地区，年轻的交通警察杜军马上要当爸爸，但他的妻子小芳觉得丈夫对自己的照顾不够，对家庭的未来充满担忧；杜军的母亲守寡多年，是虔诚的基督徒，为实现过去的丈夫的遗愿，她希望儿媳妇能生下一个男孩，但信仰上帝并没有给她带来心灵上的安慰，反而生活的各种不确定让他变得心事重重.本片讲述了杜军在一天中经历的接踵而至的工作和家庭的危机，以及突如其来的生活变故和灾祸。

刘勇宏生于中国河南洛阳。1991年毕业于扬州大学建筑系,开始从事建筑设计；1997年考北京电影学院摄影系，2000年毕业，获影视摄影艺术创作与理论专业硕士学位；2001年考入中央戏剧学院电视艺术系，2004年毕业，获戏剧戏曲学（影视美学方向）博士学位。已获奖项：第34届香港国际电影节国际影评人协会（FIPRESCI)特别表扬."

"The Tangle

In the South of China, in an ancient neighborhood called "Ye Lang", a young police officer named Du Jun is about to become a father. However, his wife Xiao Fang worries that he will not be able to look after either himself or the family. Du Jun's mother, a devout Christian already widowed for many years, hopes that her son and daughter-in-law can realize the wishes of her late husband and give birth to a son. Despite her devout piety, her wishes are not realized. Instead, life becomes more and more difficult for Du Jun. This film will look at the work and family crises that Du Jun experiences, the disasters and life-changing events that suddenly arise in the course of one day.

Liu Yong Hong was born in Luoyang, in Henan Province. In 1991 he graduated from the Architecture Department of Yangzhou University. In 1997 he was accepted into the Cinematography department of the Beijing Film Academy. He graduated from there in 2000 with a dual MA in Cinematographic Arts and Theory. In 2001 he was accepted to the Television Arts department of the Central Academy for Drama. He graduated in 2004 with a PHD in Chinese Opera Theater (with a concentration in Visual Arts). The Tangle received the FIPRESCI award at the 34th International Hong Kong Film Festival."
