CFA M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Chinese Studies at CUHK

Call for applications: M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Chinese Studies at the
Chinese University of Hong Kong

The Centre for East Asian Studies (CEAS) of the Chinese University of
Hong Kong invites applications for its M. Phil. and Ph. D. programmes in
Chinese Studies for 2010-2011. We welcome strong applicants with
specialized research plans in a variety of disciplines.

The CEAS provides a platform for interdisciplinary studies of China
conducted in English at the Chinese University. In addition to the M.
Phil. and Ph. D. programmes, the CEAS also hosts B.A. and M.A.
programmes in Chinese Studies. M. Phil and Ph. D. students will find
themselves in a vibrant learning community at the CEAS.

Successful applicants will be supported by a monthly studentship of
approximately U.S.$1,200 after tuition. Funding for research activities
is also available.

Current faculty includes: Bei Dao, Ann Huss, John Lagerwey, Billy So,
and William Shiyuan Wang, with participation from specialists in fields
of Anthropology, Cultural and Religious Studies, Economics, Fine Arts,
Geography and Resource Management, Government and Public Administration,
History, Japanese Studies, Journalism and Communication, Linguistics,
Management, Marketing and Sociology.

Closing date for applications for 2010-11 is 28 February 2010.
